The Journey

Your walk with Christ will not be easy, so don't go into it thinking it will be. However, no matter how hard it gets, just know that it's worth it in the end.

The journey takes time. The journey takes patience. The journey is full of lessons, but you have to be willing to learn them. You have to make up in your mind that you want to go through the journey because although it's long and hard, the result is lots of progress, maturity, and growth. Trials come to make you stronger, to test your faith, to encourage you to build a strong relationship with God. The only one holding you back is (yup, you guessed it!) you!

When you decide to stop being resistant to God's plan, then you will find that things will start to flow. When you become more consistent with dedicating time to your relationship with God, you will find that you become filled with more peace. The Bible says to "delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Psalm 37:4 KJV) Spend time giving everything over to God and watch Him work in your life. After all, the Bible does say that you can "cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7 NIV) Tell Him about what's holding you back from moving forward and watch Him turn things around for the better.

The journey assists in giving you an idea of who you are. You will change during the journey; you will not come out the same way you went in (hopefully for the better). You will learn things about yourself as you move along. You're not alone on this journey. Invite your Heavenly Father in and let Him lead the way.

The only one really holding you back from embracing the journey and growing is you. No one can force you to do anything. People may influence how you view things or even your decision to do something, however they can't make the decision for you. Make the decision to take God's hand and follow Him on your journey to growth. The journey is meant to help you, not to harm you.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 KJV

"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." Psalms 37:5 KJV

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27 KJV
