Pre-nursing

As you may or may not know, I am a sophomore in college and I'm a pre-nursing major. What this means for me is that the time has come for me to apply to get into my school's nursing major. At my school, nursing is a screened major, meaning that I have to apply to get in.

I have to prepare to take the TEAS test, which is like an SAT test for nursing students, and start filling out my nursing application. I am currently taking some prerequisites for the major and will finish taking all of them this summer. Some prerequisites for nursing include nutrition, anatomy and physiology 1 and 2, and biology. These are very intense classes, which makes sense because the human body is a very complex system. Once I get into the major (speaking that into existence now!!!), I will be doing clinicals and taking classes like pharmacology.

Nursing is a super competitive major, however with determination, hard work, and faith I know that I can get in. I'm trying to develop effective study skills and I'm attending all of the study sessions that I can to make sure I truly understand the material. Also, studying with other people can be effective because they could teach you ways to memorize and understand the material better. My schedule is much busier this year than last year, but I'm determined to make my goals reality!!

What is/was your major?
